Creative & Product Content

Online shoppers cannot pick up a product, check its finish or compare its size in person. Images must do some of that work for them. A thoughtful image sequence can explain what the product is, what makes it useful and what the buyer will actually receive.

Start with a clear main image

The first image should make the product instantly recognisable. Choose a clean crop, good lighting and enough space around the item so its shape is easy to read even on a small screen. Avoid adding decorative badges or text unless the marketplace explicitly allows them in the main image.

Show details customers cannot infer

Use close-ups for texture, stitching, finish, connectors, closures or other features that matter to the purchase decision. For apparel, show the cut and relevant construction details. For home or personal-care products, consider packaging, dimensions and what is included in the box.

Add scale and context

A simple size reference or carefully styled lifestyle image can help customers understand scale and intended use. Keep context realistic. Props should not imply that accessories or extra items are included if they are not part of the actual product.

Use infographics sparingly

Infographics work best when they answer a few meaningful questions: dimensions, material, key features, setup steps or care instructions. Use short labels, legible type and strong contrast. Too much text on one image makes the details difficult to read on mobile.

Keep the whole gallery consistent

Use a consistent colour treatment, lighting style and layout across all images in the same catalog. Double-check that colours, product shape and included parts remain accurate. If variants differ, make sure the gallery and selected variation do not contradict each other.

Review on a phone before publishing

Zoom out and check whether the product is still clear at a small size. Confirm that infographic text can be read, key details are not cropped and image order tells a sensible story from overview to specifics.

Quick takeaway: A useful sequence is often: clear main image, important detail, scale or dimensions, key benefits, and use or care information. Adjust it to the product and the marketplace’s current image requirements.

Strong product content does not need to look complicated. It needs to be accurate, consistent and designed around the questions a customer is most likely to ask.
